Channel 4 has hired Shine TV’s Nicola Brown to serve on their Special Factual team as a Commissioning Editor. The broadcaster said that her appointment would further bolster the Factual commissioning team that is overseen by Head of Factual Danny Horan.
Nicola exits Shine after having served as their Head of Documentaries since December 2017, and an EP for the company between 2016 and 2017. During her tenure, she was responsible for overseeing documentary strategy, developing new ideas, managing relationships and pitching to all the major broadcasters.
She has overseen such shows as The Island with Bear Grylls, Hunted and Celebrity Hunted; and produced The Secret Life of 4,5 & 6 Year Olds for RDF as well as Educating Cardiff for TwoFour. Other credits include The Sound of Musicals for Fresh One Productions and 24 Hours in A&E for The Garden Productions.
