EXCLUSIVE: Kyra Sedgwick’s TV comeback is crossing the pond. I’ve learned that UKTV’s Alibi channel has secured the UK rights to Ten Days In The Valley, which marked the Emmy award winner’s first regular TV role since The Closer, after striking a deal with international distributor Lionsgate Television. I’m told that the series will launch on Alibi next month, though a firm premiere date has not yet been set.
Created and written by Tassie Cameron, Ten Days In The Valley tells the story of Jane Sadler (Kyra Sedgwick), an overworked television producer and single mother in the middle of a separation whose life is turned upside down when her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. Just like her controversial police TV show, everything is a mystery, everyone has a secret and no one can be trusted.
The drama series, which produced a single ten episode season before being cancelled state-side by ABC, is produced by Skydance Television and stars Kyra Sedgwick, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kick Gurry, Erika Christensen, Felix Solis, Josh Randall, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Abigail Pniowsky and Francois Battiste. The executive producers are Tassie Cameron, Kyra Sedgwick, Jill Littman, Dana Goldberg, David Ellison and Marcy Ross.
At Alibi, Ten Days In The Valley joins a healthy slate of exclusive UK premiere scripted series that includes fellow ABC drama Quantico, Australian drama Harrow, international crime drama Carter, and Canadian co-productions The Frankie Drake Mysteries and Murdoch Mysteries. Perhaps not coincidentally, Alibi is also one of several UK channels that holds repeat rights to The Closer.
