Argonon Group’s indie Remedy Productions has hired former Buccaneer Media exec Denis O’Connor to serve as Chief Creative Officer. The appointment, which is effective from June 11th, comes mere months after the company promoted Bernie Costello to Managing Director.
As CCO, O’Connor will be responsible for managing Remedy’s existing programming and developing new ideas with the team, focusing on entertainment formats, live events and talent focused formats. “Remedy Productions is a hugely innovative company and I’m very excited to lead the creative team as we develop and produce a slate of compelling, high quality formats that resonate with viewers”, he said.
Denis O’Connor is a veteran of the industry who, over the course of some 17 years, has served as Head of Department, Creative Director, Executive Producer and showrunner across multiple genres.
He has expertise in managing and nurturing large teams and has worked with high profile talent including Davina McCall, Emma Willis and Dermot O’Leary. O’Connor was also previously Creative Director on Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother for Channel 5. “Dennis is an innovative and dynamic leader and is going to elevate Remedy to the next level”, added Argonon CEO James Burstall. “We are delighted he is joining the group at this exciting time.”
