Marvel’s Agent Carter will premiere on the soon to launch Paramount Network on Wednesday July 4th at 8pm. Subsequent episodes will air in the show’s regular Thursday night 9pm time-slot.
Marvel’s Agent Carter is set in New York in 1946 and follows Peggy Carter, the character from Captain America and Captain America: Winter Solider. Peace has dealt Agent Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.
Based on the One Shot from the Iron Man DVD and developed for television by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the eight episode drama series is produced by ABC Studios & Marvel Television and stars Hayley Atwell (Captain America), Dominic Cooper (From Hell), James D’Arcy (Broadchurch), Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill), Enver Gjokaj (Dollhouse) and Shea Whigham (American Hustle). Marvel’s Agent Carter only lasted two seasons before it was cancelled by ABC. FOX UK previously aired both seasons of the show.
