Netflix UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘Anne With An E’ Season 2

The second season of Anne With An E will receive its UK premiere on Netflix UK on Friday July 6th, it ha been announced.

Anne With An E is a coming-of-age story about an outsider who, against all odds and numerous challenges, fights for acceptance for her place in the world and for love. The series centers on a young orphaned girl in 1890, who, after an abusive childhood spent in orphanages and the homes of strangers, is mistakenly sent to live with an elderly spinster and her aging brother. Over time, 13-year-old Anne will transform their lives and eventually the small town in which they live with her unique spirit, fierce intellect and brilliant imagination.

The drama series is based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic novel Anne of Green Gables and was developed for television by showrunner Moira Walley-Beckett. It is produced by Northwood Entertainment and stars Amybeth McNulty, Geraldine James, R.H. Thomson, Corrine Koslo, Dalila Bela, Aymeric Jett Montaz, Lucas Zumann and Kyla Matthews. The second season of Anne With An E continues to chart bold new territory, adding new characters and storylines while further exploring themes of identity, prejudice, feminism, bullying, gender parity and empowerment through the lens of its fierce, starry-eyed, irrepressible 14-year-old protagonist.
