Fresh off of hiring Kate Maddigan as Head of Entertainment, independent production company Little Gem has promoted Senior Development Producer Rachel Harris to serve and Head Of Development. Additionally, the indie has hired Harriet Dormer to serve as their Head of Production.
“Both Harriet and Rachel have a wealth of experience and are extremely talented, creative people”, Little Gem’s Chief Executive Officer Ben Gale said in a statement. “I know they’ll bring their enthusiasm and drive to these roles and will be a great asset to the team.”
As Head of Development, Rachel Harris will help to generate new business and oversee the development team and slate. She is a former Broadcast Hotshot, with a previous development background at the likes of Twofour, Twenty Twenty, Betty, Outline, Keo and the BBC – where she helped to secure a raft of commissions including The Hoarder Next Door, Great British Garden Revival, Health Freaks and one-off specials such as Save Money, Lose Weight.
Harriet Dormer joins Litte Gem from Lime Pictures, where she served as Production Executive. She got her start in the industry making making political documentaries for the BBC before moving into producing entertainment shows. Dormer has held roles at Magnum Media, Remarkable Productions, Zodiak Media and Leftfield Pictures. In the Head of Production role, she will will oversee all production of Little Gem’s slate of programmes as well as help to develop and grow the business.
