Amazon Studios has sealed a first look deal with multiple award winner Nicole Kidman and her production company Blossom Films for theatrical, television series, and digital content.
The streaming service and Kidman’s Blossom will work together to develop original series that will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video globally in over 200 countries and territories, as well as movies that will engage viewers in cinemas.
“I’m excited to start working with Jen Salke and the Amazon team”, Nicole Kidman said in a statement. “Our goal at Blossom Films is to create important and entertaining content across multiple platforms, and I can’t think of better collaborators with which to accomplish this.”
“Nicole is a force of nature as both an actress and a producer”, added Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios. “She understands the focus of bringing addictive, entertaining and compelling television to our Prime Video customers as well as movies that will connect with film audiences. Stay tuned for many exciting projects to come in the very near future!”
Launched by Kidman and Per Saari, Blossom Films executive produced HBO’s Big Little Lies, starring Kidman, which is set to return for a second season next year. The company’s next project is the HBO series The Undoing, which will star Kidman and hails from prolific writer/producer David E. Kelley – who was also the writer behind the adaptation of Big Little Lies.
