W is getting in on the dating game. UKTV’s flagship entertainment channel has given the greenlight to The Ultimate Matchmaker, an eight episode series that will offer a unique insight into the glamorous world of high class dating.
The Ultimate Matchmaker is set in a select dating agency in London, where the clientele seemingly has it all – except “The One”. Help is on hand in the form of dating expert and elite matchmaker Lara Asprey, a woman who knows exactly what her super eligible clients are looking for – and how to make the perfect match.
The eight episode series – which marks the first dating show for W – is being produced by Ricochet and was commissioned by UKTV’s Commissioning Editor Helen Nightingale and ordered by Director of Commissioning Richard Watsham and General Manager for Comedy and Entertainment Steve North. Claire Egerton-Jones is the director, while Sandy Watson is set as the series producer. Emma Walsh is the executive producer.
“We’ve wanted a show about dating ever since W was launched but we knew it had to be just right”, Steve North said in a statement. “We’re really thrilled to have found the perfect match and we know viewers will really respond to The Ultimate Matchmaker.”
