STV Productions has promoted long-time development executive Claire Armspach to serve as their Head of Drama Development.
“Claire’s fantastic writer relationships, impeccable taste and passion for TV drama is well known”, said STV Productions’ Head of Drama Srah Brown. “So I’m delighted that she has agreed to take on this vital role driving development at such an exciting time for STV Drama.”
Claire joined STV Productions in 2011 and was instrumental in securing a commission for one-off drama Elizabeth Is Missing at BBC One earlier this year. “It has been a career high to have been part of the development team on Elizabeth is Missing”, Claire said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue working with Sarah and the STV Productions Drama team on our brilliant slate of drama projects.”
In her new role she will oversee development on all drama projects. The position has been established to enable the STV Productions to build on its success and secure further commissions. The indie is currently in production on The Victim, a four-part thriller for BBC One starring Kelly Macdonald, John Hannah and James Harkness. Priot to joining STV Productions, Claire Armspach served as a script editor and producer at World Productions, before joining the drama team at the BBC, where her credits include Holby City, Waking the Dead and Whistle and I’ll Come to You starring John Hurt.
