After airing all of the TV movies that spawned it, Movies 24 has picked up the Good Witch TV series. The NBCU owned and operated channel has secured the linear rights to the Catherine Bell fronted drama after striking an agreement with ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
Good Witch follows Cassie Nightingale, a witch residing in a haunted house in small town America who can never predict what excitement will brew in her life with her enchanting daughter, Grace and handsome neighbour, Dr Sam Radford. The drama series is produced by Whizbang Films and stars Catherine Bell, James Denton and Bailee Madison.
Netflix UK and ITVSGE previously agreed a deal for first run UK rights to Good Witch and the streaming service has made the first three seasons available on this side of the pond. They are expected to make season four available in the coming months. The first season of Good Witch will premiere on Movies 24 on Sunday July 1st at 3pm and will air in double-bills each week.
Movies 24 is the UK home to the vast majority of Hallmark’s original content. They air the vast majority of the original TV movies produced for both the main Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries – with notable titles including Aurora Teagarden Mystery, Garage Sale Mystery and Signed, Sealed, Delivered. The channel also holds linear rights to Chesapeake Shores, which like Good Witch initially airs in the UK on Netflix.
