ITV is returning to Corfu. The commercial broadcaster has handed out a fourth season renewal to The Durrells. Six episodes have been ordered for the show’s fourth season. Production gets underway in Corfu later this year for a 2019 premiere.
The Durrells tells the story of Louisa and her four spirited and unruly children, Larry, Leslie, Margo and Gerry as they start a new life in Corfu in the 1930s. The drama series is produced by Sid Gentle Films Limited and stars Keeley Hawes, Josh O’Connor, Callum Woodhouse, Daisy Waterstone, Milo Parker and Alexis Georgoulis.
The official season four pick up comes less than a month after season three wrapped its run. Simon Nye is returning to pen the scripts for fourth season and will also executive produce alongside Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris and Keeley Hawes.
““We couldn’t be more delighted to be making more of The Durrells with our exceptional team and on the magical island of Corfu – it is a dream come true”, said Sally Woodward Gentle, Founder and CEO of Sid Gentle Films Ltd.
“The Durrells has proven immensely popular with viewers and critics alike, so we’re thrilled to have commissioned another series”, added ITV’s Senior Drama Commissioner Victoria Fea. “Simon Nye’s writing is witty, big-hearted and hugely engaging, so we’re looking forward to seeing what the fourth series has in store.”
