FremantleMedia International has secured the international distribution rights to Channel 4 newly commissioned Jamie Oliver series: Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food season two and food travelogue Jamie Cooks Italy. FMI repped the first season of Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food and sold the series into more than 120 international territories.
“With its beautiful production values and effortless format, Jamie Oliver is again on top form in his new series of Jamie’s Quick and Easy”, said Angela Neillis, Director of Non-Scripted for FremantleMedia International. “We always think creatively about how we distribute at FremantleMedia International, so we were excited to be able to support the show again, and bring brand new episodes to our international broadcasters this Spring.”
“Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food is a super-simple concept, executed with extremely high production values to deliver a programme that has connected and continues to connect with a UK and global audience”, added Zoe Collins, Chief Content Officer of The Jamie Oliver Group. “Our social media accounts, from all corners of the globe, tell us daily that Quick & Easy is encouraging people to get back into the kitchen with these delicious and very easy dishes. I am delighted we are going to be able to showcase even more recipes in the new series.”
Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food sees Jamie using just five ingredients to create tasty dishes, focusing on ease, simplicity, and clever tricks and techniques. “If you loved the first series – and I’m really happy so many of you did – then you’re in for a real treat with the next batch of episodes”, Jamie Oliver said. “They include some of my favourite five-ingredient dishes! I can’t wait to see what you think.” The series is directed by Ed St Giles and Niall Downing, series produced by Katie Millard and executive produced by Katy Fryer and Sam Beddoes.
Jamie Cooks Italy sees Jamie teaming with his friend and mentor Gennaro Contaldo to learn Italy’s best-kept secrets from the true masters of the Italian kitchen: the home cooks who have perfected recipes that have been lovingly handed down over generations. The pair will travel around Italy – from Puglia in Spring and the Aeolian Islands in Summer to Tuscany in Autumn and Rome in Winter – picking up tips and recipes. Katy Fryer will direct and executive produce.
