E4 has acquired the exclusive UK rights to Pop TV’s comedy series Let’s Get Physical after striking a deal with international distributor Entertainment One (eOne). The series will premiere on E4 on Thursday May 3rd at 9:30pm.
Let’s Get Physical is follows middle-aged slacker Joe Force (Matt Jones), who makes a reluctant comeback in the fitness industry after his dad, the “Godfather of Aerobics,” unexpectedly passes away and wills Joe the broke-down family gym with eccentric provisions attached to get his actual fortune and estate.
The eight episode comedy series, which was created by Connor Pritchard and Dan & Ben Newmark, is produced by Entertainment One (eOne) and stars Matt Jones (Breaking Bad, Mom), Jane Seymour (Wedding Crashers, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman), Chris Diamantopoulos (24, Silicon Valley), AnnaLynne McCord (Secrets & Lies, 90210). The executive producers are Michael Rosenberg for Rosey TV, Connor Pritchard for Inside Center Productions, Ben Newmark and Dan Newmark for Grandma’s House Entertainment and John Morayniss for eOne.
This deal further extends the relationship between E4 and eOne, who previously worked together on co-production Gap Year. At E4, Let’s Get Physical joins a wide-ranging slate of first run U.S. scripted comedy series including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Black-ish, The Goldbergs, Kevin Can Wait, New Girl, Young & Hungry and Angie Tribeca.
