UKTV’s Dave channel has given the green-light to Modern Wheels Or Classic Steals, a car buying series fronted by car dealer and racing driver Rebecca Jackson and former model and car-collecting owner of The London Motor Museum Elo.
Modern Wheels Or Classic Steals sees one would-be car-buyer turn to Rebecca and Elo for help in deciding which set of wheels they should splash their cash on. Rebecca tries to convince the buyer that a modern motor is the way forward, while Elo encourages them to embrace the past and opt for one of his classic choices.
Twenty half-hour episodes have been ordered for the show’s first season, which is set to premiere later this year. The series is being produced by Cactus TV, with Simon Ross serving as the executive producer. It was ordered by UKTV’s Director of Commissioning Richard Watsham and UKTV’s General Manager for Comedy and Entertainment Steve North, and commissioned by UKTV’s Senior Commissioning Editor Iain Coyle.
“We are excited to bring this show to life on Dave. We know how much our viewers love motoring content and we are sure they will love Modern Wheels or Classic Steals too”, said Luke Hales, Channel Director for Dave. “It has an entertaining format, and of course, lots of lovely cars.”
