SYFY UK Agrees Bumper Deal With Disney For UK Rights To ‘Marvel’s Runaways’, ‘Siren’ & ‘Stitchers’

SYFY UK has gone on an acquisitions spree. The NBCU owned and operated genre channel has agreed a bumper deal with Disney Media Distribution for UK rights to Hulu’s Marvel series Runaways and the Freeform dramas Siren and Stitchers.

Marvel’s Runaways tells the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe when they discover that their parents are evil. The drama series is produced by ABC Signature Studios and Marvel Television and stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin and Allegra Acosta.

Siren is set in the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, which is turned upside down when a mysterious girl appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the small fishing town. Using their resources, marine biologists Ben and Maddie must work together to find out who and what drove this primal hunter of the deep sea to land, and are there more like her out there? The drama series stars Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun, Rena Owens and Sibongile Mlambo,

Created by Jeffrey Alan Schechter, Stitchers follows Kirsten, a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be ‘stitched’ into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. The drama series stars Emma Ishta, Kyle Harris, Ritesh Rajan, Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Allison Scagliotti.

Marvel’s RunawaysSiren and Stitchers join a healthy slate of first run acquisitions on SYFY UK. The genre channel is also the exclusive UK home to such shows as Fox’s The Exorcist, Hulu’s Dimension 404, NBC’s Midnight, Texas, and Syfy original series’ 12 Monkeys and Killjoys.
