Investigation Discovery UK has picked up James Patterson’s Murder Is Forever, the scripted true crime series produced for the U.S. Investigation Discovery network. The series, which runs six episodes, will premiere on ID UK on Friday March 16th at 10pm.
James Patterson’s Murder Is Forever was created in partnership with the prolific thriller writer. Each episode is introduced by Patterson and features a self contained story that explores a true crime case; which will also be explored in upcoming books by Patterson. The scripted series is produced by Stephen David Entertainment.
“My goal for both the books and television show was to create a groundbreaking series that shatters the true crime mold and attracts the widest possible audience”, James Patterson said in a statement. “These stories won’t disappoint readers or viewers – and they’ll be shocked that they actually happened.”
The opening episode takes place in Springfield, Missouri in 2015 and tells the story of Dee Dee Blanchard, who is a devoted and loving mother to her ever-sickly child, Gypsy. With an endlessly positive attitude, Gypsy captures the hearts of everyone she meets. The duo’s strong connection and perseverance is contagious and they’re constantly sent on vacations and provided for by others who want to help out. But one day, a vicious crime strikes the pair and the community is left reeling as the cops race to track down the perpetrator and find answers. The series wrapped its run in the United States last week; it has yet to be renewed for a second season.
