ITV2 Import 'Superstore' Renewed For Fourth Season – TVWise

NBC comedy series Superstore – which was recently acquired on this side of the pond by ITV2 – has been renewed for a fourth season, the network announced on Wednesday evening. Twenty-two episodes have been ordered for the show’s fourth season, which will premiere later this year.
Superstore follows a group of employees at a big-box store and explores the examination of love, friendship and the beauty of everyday moments. The comedy is produced by NBC’s sister studio Universal Television and stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Mark McKinney, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nichole Bloom and Nico Santos.
“Superstore is one of our signature NBC comedies, and we’re so pleased to be bringing it back for the 2018-19 season”, NBC’s President of Entertainment Jennifer Salke, who is exiting the company for the top job at Amazon Studios, said in a statement.
“This clever comedy, featuring America Ferrera, Ben Feldman and an incredibly talented ensemble cast, is a source of pride for the comedy team at NBC and I’m personally gratified that it has connected with audiences and critics alike”, added Tracey Pakosta, Co-President, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment.
Superstore joins fellow comedy series Will & Grace and The Good Place, both of which were previously renewed by the network for the 2018-2019 season. The series has registered year-over-year ratings growth of 6% in the demo and 3% in total viewers and as such was always expected to earn a pick up. Superstore” was NBC’s #1 comedy across digital platforms in 2017, including the NBC app, Hulu and VOD.
