BBC One has given the green-light to For Facts Sake, a new quiz show that will be hosted by Mrs Brown’s Boys creator and star Brendan O’Carroll. The series, which is expected to premiere later this year, will also feature members of the Mrs Brown’s Boys cast.
For Facts Sake will see two teams compete in a series of entertaining rounds and games that uncover some amazing truths about the world we live in. Each team will be captained by a rotating cast of Mrs. Brown’s Boys regulars, with the rest of the panel made up of members of the audience, invited down to join the game.
“I’m really excited to be doing a show where I don’t have to wear a bra! When we did the pilot it was great fun, if we can capture that on the screen we are all in for a good time”, said For Facts Sake host Brendan O’Carroll.
The series is set up as a joint production between Hungry Bear Media and BOC-PIX Ltd and was commissioned for BBC One by Kate Phillips, the BBC’s Controller Entertainment Commissioning and Kalpna Patel-Knight, Commissioning Editor for BBC Entertainment. The executive producers are Dan Baldwin and Andy Price for Hungry Bear Media, Brendan O’Carroll for BOC-PIX and Kalpna Patel-Knight for the BBC.
“Brendan is incredibly bright, is the ultimate raconteur and has a hunger for exceptional facts and unbelievable historical truths”, added Dan Baldwin, Managing Director of Hungry Bear Media. “The show will put both his, and the audience’s, knowledge to the test with brilliantly funny rounds, games and VTs that push the public firmly in the spotlight. If you like your comedy to have ‘take home’ then you’ll love For Facts Sake.”
