Channel 4 Developing Cyber War Drama ‘The Undeclared War’ From Peter Kosminsky & Colin Callender’s Playground

Peter Kosminsky is returning to the Channel 4 fold.

After collaborating together on ISIS drama The State (pictured, right), the award winning scribe is developing The Undeclared War – a drama series about cyber warfare – for the broadcaster.

Envisioned as a ten episode returning series, The Undeclared War focuses on the undeclared cyber confrontation between the key state players in a present day Cold War. Kosminsky is set to write and direct the first three episodes and the final episode.

The project is set up at Colin Callender’s Playground and is being developed for Channel 4’s Head of Drama Beth Willis. It marks a reunion for Callender and Kosminky, who previously worked together on the BBC’s adaptation of Wolf Hall. Peter Kosminsky, Colin Callender and Playground’s Executive Creative Director Sophie Gardiner will serve as executive producers.
