Nicola Brown, who has been working with Shine TV for the past 18 months as executive producer on Celebrity Hunted and The Island With Bear Grylls, is joining the indie on a permanent basis after being named as Head of Documentaries.
The newly created role will see Brown assume responsibility for developing and expanding the indie’s factual output; building on the successes of Hunted, The Island, MasterChef, Loot, The Secret Life of Prisons and The Force She will report directly to Tanya Shaw, Managing Director of Shine TV.
“Having spent the last 18 months at Shine, I’m thrilled to be joining the team on a permanent basis and look forward to expanding the company’s factual output and building on their reputation as bold and innovative storytellers”, Nicola Brown said in a statement.
“Shine TV is well known for breaking new ground in the factual entertainment space and we are now going to apply this to documentaries”, added Tanya Shaw, Managing Director of Shine TV. “Nicola brings a wealth of fresh ideas to the genre as well as an incredible track record in delivering inventive and engaging series so I’m really excited about how we can develop this part of the business.”
