BBC One’s three-part adaptation of Little Women will premiere on Boxing Day (Tuesday December 26th) at 8pm, it has been announced.
Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott and adapted by Heidi Thomas, Little Women follows the four sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March on their journey from childhood to adulthood. With the help of their mother Marmee, while their father is away at war the girls navigate what it means to be a young woman – from gender roles to sibling rivalry, first love, loss and marriage. The three-parter is produced by Playground and stars Emily Watson, Maya Hawke, Willa Fitzgerald, Annes Elwy, Kathryn Newton, Angela Lansbury, Michael Gambon and Jonah Hauer-King.
