A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will premiere on BBC One on Saturday December 30th at 7:10pm, it has been announced.
A spiritual successor to last year’s Peter Pan Goes Wrong, A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong follows the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, blacklisted by the BBC after ruining Peter Pan, as they force themselves back on the BBC by hijacking the jewel of the Christmas schedule – a ‘live’ production of A Christmas Carol. The Cornley gang try to make the show work on ‘live’ television, but they soon realise they are completely out of their depth with no idea how to direct a live studio or handle special effects and are having their own internal rivalries revealed on television. Plus, there’s an angry professional cast trying to get back into the studio. The one-off is being produced by BBC Studios and stars Derek Jacobi, Dame Diana Rigg and the Mischief Theatre Company.
