5USA is adding another Chicago series to their slate. The Channel 5 owned digi-net has secured the free-to-air rights to short-lived Chicago PD spin-off Chicago Justice after striking a deal with international distributor NBCUniversal International Distribution.
Chicago Justice follows the State’s Attorney’s dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators as they navigate heated city politics and controversy head-on while fearlessly pursuing justice. As they take on the city’s high stakes and often media-frenzied cases, they must balance public opinion, power struggles within the system and their unwavering passion for the law. The drama series is produced by Universal Television and stars Philip Winchester, Jon Seda, Carl Weathers, Joelle Carter and Monica Barbaro.
This marks the second UK deal for Chicago Justice after NBCU previously sold first window rights to Universal Channel, who aired the 13 episode series earlier this year. 5USA were actually in the mix to pick up the series back then, but lost out to NBCU’s flagship UK channel. Notably, 5USA is the exclusive UK home to Chicago PD and also holds FTA rights to Chicago Fire. Channel 5 also recently picked up the Will & Grace revival from NBCUniversal International Distribution.
