TVWise To Launch Book Imprint, Will Publish 'Major Crimes' Non-Fiction Book – TVWise

Back in October, I announced plans to step away from TVWise to write a non-fiction book about U.S. crime drama Major Crimes. I was confident that given the size of the show’s audience finding a publisher would not be too difficult. Suffice to say the past two months have been a humbling experience, but I am reminded that nothing worth doing is ever easy.
I remain committed to telling this story and so after attempting to sell this book to a mainstream publisher, it has become clear that the best move forward is to do it in-house. I’m happy to announce that the non-fiction book, tentatively titled Major Crimes: The Inside Story, will now be published via a TVWise book imprint, which will be launching shortly.
That being the case, my plans to step away from the company are now on hold until Major Crimes: The Inside Story has been published. So what is the book about exactly? Think of it as an unauthorized history that will tell the story of the origins, history and untimely demise of Major Crimes.
We will be providing updates on the progress of the book in the coming months. It is targeted for release in Q3 2018. In the mean time, here is the synopsis:
In early October 2017, TNT announced that Major Crimes – the spin-off of the award-winning television series The Closer – would be coming to an end with its upcoming sixth season. This, despite the fact that it ranks as their highest rated show, and the cast & crew all want to continue producing new episodes.
‘Major Crimes: The Inside Story’ explores the unusual story of the show’s origins, the characters, key events across all six seasons and how the arrival of a new boss and strategy at the network set in motion a series of events that led to the cancellation.
Compiled from original reporting and countless interviews with the people who were there (including series creator and showrunner James Duff, cast members, directors, writers and executives), this is the definitive story of the birth, life and untimely death of Major Crimes.
