The fifth season of History’s drama series Vikings will receive its UK premiere on Amazon Prime Video UK on Thursday November 30th, it has been announced.
New episodes will the continue to be made available to UK Prime members every Thursday, less than 24 hours after they initially air on History, through to the midseason finale in January 2018.
Created by Michael Hirst, Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok and his band of Viking brothers. The drama series is produced by Take 5 Productions, World 2000 & MGM Television and stars Gabriel Byrne, George Blagden, Travis Fimmel, Jessalyn Gilsig, Gustaf Skarsgard, Clive Standen and Katheryn Winnick. Michael Hirst, Morgan O’Sullivan, Sheila Hockin, John Weber, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer and James Flynn executive produce.
Season five begins with Ivar the Boneless asserting his leadership over the Great Heathen Army, while Lagertha reigns as Queen of Kattegat. Ivar’s murder of his brother Sigurd sets the stage for vicious battles to come as Ragnar’s sons plot their next moves after avenging their father’s death. Bjorn follows his destiny into the Mediterranean Sea and Floki who is suffering from the loss of his wife Helga, takes to the seas submitting himself to the will of the Gods. This season is full of startling alliances and unbelievable betrayals as the Vikings fight to rule the world.
