Six episode miniseries Alias Grace will premiere on Netflix UK on Friday November 3rd, it has been announced.
Alias Grace follows Grace Marks a poor, young Irish immigrant in Upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott, was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery, in 1843.
The six episode miniseries, which is set up as a co-production between Netflix and Canadian public broadcaster CBC, is both inspired by true events and based on the Margaret Atwood novel and stars Sarah Gadon, Kerr Logan, Paul Gross, Anna Paquin and Zachary Levi. Sarah Polley adapted Alias Grace for the small screen and also serves as an executive producer on the project. Halfire Entertainment is producing, with Spotlight’s D.J. Carson serving as the co-producer. Mary Harron directs and also executive produces alongside Polley and Noreen Halpern.
