BBC One Sets Premiere Date For 'Porridge' – TVWise

The first full season of BBC One’s new Porridge series will premiere on Friday October 6th at 9:30pm, it has been announced.
From original series creators Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, Porridge is set in the modern day and follows Nigel ‘Fletch’ Fletcher, the grandson of Ronnie Barker’s Norman Fletcher, who is banged up in Wakeley Prison for a series of cyber-crimes.
In the opening episode of the first season, titled The Go-Between, Fletch has taken to helping his fellow inmates with appeals, letters home to loved ones and the like. But when Barry’s girlfriend comes to visit, things get complicated. Six episodes have been ordered for the show’s first season. The comedy series is produced by BBC Studios and stars Kevin Bishop, Mark Bonnar, Dominic Coleman, Dave Hill, Harman Singh, Jason Barnett and Ricky Grover.
