Amazon Prime Video Inks Fox Deal For SVOD Rights To 'This Is Us' & 'The Exorcist' – TVWise

Amazon Prime Video has inked a global deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to secure SVOD (Subscription Video-On-Demand) rights to both NBC drama This Is Us and Fox’s genre show The Exorcist. This marks the largest agreement between the two companies and covers more than 200 territories.
“This Is Us is one of the best new TV series, beloved by viewers and acclaimed by critics”, said Brad Beale, Vice President of Worldwide Television Acquisition for Amazon. “Prime Video members are going to love watching this Emmy award-winning show along with the thrilling horror series The Exorcist.”
The global SVOD deal has no impact on Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution’s existing first window licensing agreements here in the UK. Channel 4 retains first run rights to This Is Us, which Syfy UK will launch the second season of The Exorcist next month. No word on when the two series will launch on Amazon Prime Video UK.
“This Is Us has captivated audiences with its incredible storytelling and relatable characters that pull on our heartstrings, while The Exorcist, with its clever twists and big scares, has been something for horror fans to behold,” added Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution’s Evan Scheffel.
