Syfy Picks Up UK Rights To Hulu's 'Dimension 404' – TVWise

Syfy UK – which earlier this week announced a brand refresh – is adding yet another exclusive U.S. acquisition to their slate. The NBCU backed channel has secured the UK rights to Hulu’s sci-fi anthology series Dimension 404 after striking a deal with international distributor Lionsgate Television.
The series, which is eyed for a slot on Syfy UK’s October schedule alongside Blood Drive and the second season of The Exorcist, is the second Hulu original to land on one of NBCUniversal International Networks’ UK channels. Syfy UK’s sister channel Universal previously swooped for UK rights for the streaming service’s Hugh Laurie thriller Chance.
Dimension 404 is a science fiction anthology that explores the wonders – and terrors – of our digital age. From outrageous horror comedy to mind-bending action adventure, each episode tells a weird and wild sci-fi tale where the twist ending is just the beginning. Do not click back. Do not reload. You have reconnected… to Dimension 404. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and across its six episode first season features features a range of well known actors including Patton Oswalt, Joel McHale, Lea Michele and Sarah Hyland.
At Syfy UK, Dimension 404 joins a growing slate of exclusive first run U.S. scripted acquisitions. They are also the UK home to such shows as the aforementioned Blood Drive and The Exorcist, as well as Midnight, Texas, 12 Monkeys, Killjoys, The Librarians and Dark Matter. It is not immediately clear if Syfy UK will be picking up any new major U.S. network (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW) series from the upcoming 2016-2017 broadcast season.
