Sony Channel Takes Linear Rights To 'The Night Shift' Season 4 – TVWise

The Night Shift is returning to its long-time UK home. Sony Channel has secured the linear broadcast rights to the fourth season of the NBC medical drama after striking a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television.
There had been some question as to whether or not Sony Channel would continue airing the series after Netflix UK poached first window rights several months ago. Especially as Netflix UK’s deals for exclusive acquisitions generally carry a two-year hold-back. The fact that Sony Channel is owned and operated by SPT, who also control international rights to The Night Shift, may have been a factor.
The Night Shift follows the night shift team of doctors and nurses at San Antonio Memorial’s emergency room who are anything but ordinary. The drama series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and stars Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Robert Bailey Jr., JR Lemon, Tanaya Beatty and Scott Wolf. Season four picks up just 48 hours after the season three final and finds the crew navigating the consequences of their decisions.
