BBC Two’s one-off drama Diana And I will premiere on Monday September 4th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Diana An I explore the impact of Princess Diana’s death in Paris in 1997. It tells the story from the point of view of four ordinary people and is set across the week that followed her tragic death on 31 August 1997. The four lead characters’ fictional stories are traced in parallel but are at times interlinked. Each will lift the lid on one extraordinary week in time, covering the tumultuous events that followed from that fateful Sunday to Diana’s funeral at Westminster Abbey.
The one-off drama, which was penned by The Last King Of Scotland scribe Jeremy Brock, is produced by Big Light Productions and stars Tamsin Greig (Episodes), Nico Mirallegro (Rillington Place), Kiran Sonia Sawar (Legends), Laurie Davidson (Will), Gemma Jones (Spooks), Neil Morrissey (Line Of Duty), Tuppence Middleton (Sense8), Charlotte Hope (Game Of Thrones), Asif Khan (Man Down), Kingsley Ben-Adir (Vera), John Gordon Sinclair (Agatha Christie’s Marple) and Roshan Seth (Indian Summers). Karen Lewis is the producer, while Kenton Allen, Matthew Justice, Luke Alkin, Simon Curtis, Elizabeth Kilgarriff and Jeremy Brock will executive produce. Peter Cattaneo is the director.
