Netflix UK has picked up first window rights to Jane The Virgin from international distributor CBS Studios International, TVWise has learned.
The third season of Jane The Virgin is available to stream for Netflix UK subscribers as of today (Friday June 30th). The streaming service has also confirmed that they will stream the fourth season this Autumn, close behind the U.S. broadcast.
The news comes mere weeks after TVWise broke the news that E4 had dropped the show after two seasons, At the time, it was not immediately clear if Netflix UK, who held SVOD rights, would pick up first window. That has now happened. Jane The Virgin joins a growing number of CW originals that air on Netflix UKm including: Riverdale, iZombie and the upcoming Dynasty reboot.
Penned by Jennie Snyder Urman, Jane The Virgin picks up when a series of surprising and unforeseen events causes a hard-working, religious young Latina to be accidentally artificially inseminated. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Gina Rodriguez, Ivonne Coll, Andrea Navedo, Jaime Camil, Brett Dier, Yael Grobglas, Justin Baldoni and Ryan Devlin. In the opening episode of season three, Jane discovers that Michael was shot and finds herself having to make difficult choices.
