BBC One Sets Premiere Date For Rochdale Abuse Drama ‘Three Girls’

BBC One’s three-part Rochdale abuse drama Three Girls will premiere on Tuesday May 16th at 9pm and will over three consecutive nights, it has been announced.

Three Girls is based on the experiences of the girls who were groomed in Rochdale in the five years between 2008 and 2012, for which nine men were convicted and sentenced. The drama explores how these girls were groomed, how they were ignored by the authorities directly responsible for protecting them, and how they eventually made themselves heard.

The three-parter is produced by BBC Studios in association with Studio Lambert and stars Maxine Peake (Silk), Lesley Sharp (Scott & Bailey), Paul Kaye (Game Of Thrones), Lisa Riley (Waterloo Road), Jill Halfpenny (In The Club), Ace Bhatti (Beowulf: Return To The Shieldlands), Olivia Hill (Doctor Who), Ria Zmitrowicz (Mr Selfridge), Molly Windsor (The Unloved), Simon Nagra (No Offence), Qas Hamid (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Wasim Zakir (Four Lions).
