The third season of BBC One’s comedy series Count Arthur Strong will premiere on Friday May 19th at 8:30pm, it has been announced.

Count Arthur Strong follows the eponymous character who is an elderly pompous show-business legend, though really just an out-of-work deluded thespian originally from Doncaster, in the north of England. The comedy series is produced by Retort and Komedia Entertainment and stars Steve Delaney, Rory Kinnear, Andy Linden, Dave Plimmer, Chris Ryman and Zahra Ahmadi.

In the show’s third season Arthur, ever the optimist, is always trying out new ideas and drawing Michael and the others into ever madder schemes. Ranging from a visit to a safari park, an evening in a haunted house, amnesiac detective work, strange religious organisations, gangsters, putting his old band back together and…. “The Soupover”. Bronagh Gallagher joins the cast this season as Birdie.
