The second season of TNT’s drama series Animal Kingdom will receive its UK premiere on Amazon Prime Video UK on Wednesday May 31st, it has been announced.
New episodes will continue to be made available to UK Prime subscribers every Wednesday, less than 24 hours after they initially air on TNT in the United States.
Animal Kingdom follows 17-year-old Josh, who moves in with his wild, free-wheeling relatives in their Southern California beach town after his mother dies and is pulled into their life of indulgence and excess. But after Josh discovers that it’s all being funded by criminal activities, it suddenly becomes clear to him that joining the family comes with more danger and excitement than he might be ready to handle. The drama series is produced by Warner Horizon Television and stars Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, Daniella Alonso and Molly Gordon.
As the second season opens, the Cody clan is back to their old ways and in the midst of a fun, high-adrenaline heist. But when things don’t go as planned, the family dynamics become more fractured than ever as some members advocate for independence from Smurf. Adding fuel to the fire is an external threat from Smurf’s past that has come back to haunt her. John Wells, Jonathan Lisco, Christopher Chulack and Etan Frankel serve as executive producers on the series, with Megan Martin serving as co-executive producer. Animal Kingdom was developed for television by Lisco and inspired by the award-winning feature film written & directed by David Michôd and produced by Liz Watts, who also serve as executive producers on the series.
