The third season of Grantchester will premiere on ITV on Sunday April 23rd at 9pm, it has been announced.
Based on the novels by James Runcie, Grantchester is set in the 1950s and follows an unlikely crime-fighting duo – the charismatic, charming clergyman Sidney Chambers and gruff, down-to-earth Police Inspector Geordie Keating. The drama series is produced by Kudos and stars James Norton, Robson Green, Tessa Peake-Jones, Morven Christie, Kacey Ainsworth, Al Weaver and Lorne MacFadyen.
In the show’s third season, Archdeacon Gabriel Atubo reminds Sidney that as clergyman he must put duty above his own needs and lead by example. The heart of the show remains the friendship between Sidney and Geordie. As they solve crimes in Grantchester, Cambridge and beyond, they each deal with personal crises at home, once again their unique and unlikely friendship is put to the test. Peter Davison (Law & Order: UK) will guest star as Geoff Towler, the village solicitor, captain of the cricket team and a man who rules his family with a rod of iron.
