AMC Global – the AMC branded channel here in the UK, which is available exclusively to BT TV customers – has released the key art for the upcoming third season of The Walking Dead spin-off Fear The Walking Dead.
Created by Robert Kirkman & Dave Erickson, Fear The Walking Dead is set at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse – a time when the world was changing rapidly for reasons unknown, before anyone understood exactly what was happening, when life as everyone knew it was upended and altered in ways no one could have ever imagined – and follows three blended families as they attempt to survive the end of the world. The drama series is produced by AMC Studios and stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Mercedes Mason, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Daniel Sharman, Sam Underwood and Lisandra Tena. AMC recently picked up the show for a fourth season.
In the show’s third season, the families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent region formerly known as the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world’s end, they must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison has reconnected with Travis, her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia has been fractured by her murder of Andres. Madison’s son is only a few miles from his mother, but Nick’s first action as a leader saw him and Luciana ambushed by an American militia group. Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand has his sights set on harnessing the new world’s currency, and Ofelia’s captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father.
The key art (see below) features Frank Dillane as Nick Clark and the tag-line “fear what you become”. Per AMC, the image and corresponding tag-line represent the idea that the person you become in the new world is more brutal, savage and heartless; and capable of things that were unimaginable before the dead began to walk. Fear The Walking Dead season three premieres in the UK on AMC Global on Monday June 5th at 2am, simulcast with AMC’s east-coast broadcast in the United States. The episode will then be repeated later that same day in the regular 9pm time-slot. The first half of season three will air over six weeks, with the two-part finale airing on Monday July 10th.
