The fifth and final season of Canadian drama series Saving Hope will receive its UK premiere on Sony Channel on Tuesday April 4th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Saving Hope picks up shortly after Charlie Harris, the Chief of Surgery of Toronto’s Hope-Zion Hospital, ends up in a coma. The comatose Dr. Harris explores the hospital halls in “spirit” form, not sure if he’s a ghost or a figment of his own imagination while Alex Reid and her fellow doctors press on to save his life and those of their other patients. The drama series is produced by ICF Films with Entertainment One (eOne) and stars Erica Durance, Michael Shanks, Wendy Crewson, Benjamin Ayres, Julia Taylor Ross, Michelle Nolden, Huse Madhavji, Kim Shaw, Dejan Loyola and Jarod Joseph.
In the opening episode of the show’s fifth season, titled Doctor Dustiny, after the gunshot at the end of last season’s finale, Dr. Alex Reid searches for Dr. Charlie Harris in the following chaos, but instead comes across a caterer named Grace who was unknowingly caught in the crossfire. At Hope Zion, Grace’s mother asks Alex for a priest, but the only person Alex can find is the pious interventional radiologist Dr. Manny Palmer. Together, the two work quickly to try to save Grace’s life. As news of the shooting spreads, Dr. Dana Kinney arrives at the hospital to lend a hand but instead ends up consulting on a case with Dr. Cassie Williams involving a male stripper instead.
