Sky1 Inks Deal With SPT For UK Rights To 'The Blacklist: Redemption' – TVWise

Sky1 has inked a deal with Sony Pictures Television to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to NBC’s The Blacklist spin-off The Blacklist: Redemption. TVWise has learned. The show’s first season is expected to premiere later this year. TVWise has reached out to representatives of Sky for comment.
The Blacklist: Redemption follows Tom Keen as he joins forces with Susan “Scottie” Hargrave, the brilliant and cunning chief of PMC Grey Matters. While on the hunt for Liz’s attacker, Tom secretly discovered that Scottie is actually his biological mother. Now, as they team up to employ their unique skills and resources in a dangerous world of deadly criminals, Tom begins his own covert mission to find out more about his shadowy past.
The series was originally pilotedwith a planted episode of The Blacklist last season and is being shepherded by showrunner David Amann. Redemption is produced by John Eisendrath Productions, Flatwater Scribe, Davis Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television and stars Famke Janssen, Ryan Eggold, Edi Gathegi and Tawny Cypress. The executive producers are Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, John Fox and John Davis.
This was perhaps a natural buy for Sky1, who are, following a recent move, also the UK home to parent series The Blacklist. Redemption joins a large and growing slate of exclusive U.S. acquisitions on the channel that also include NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, The Flash, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Modern Family, The Simpsons, The Last Ship and Colony.
