Sky1 has renewed their original drama series Delicious, starring Dawn French and Emilia Fox, for a second season, TVWise has learned. There’s no word on the size of the episode order for season two.
Delicious premiered back in December and was a rating hit for Sky1; managing an average cumulative audience of 1.87 million viewers – making it the most watched UK drama series on Sky1 in 2016.
“Delicious delivered our largest average audience for a Sky1 original drama in 2016, so we knew we had to put it back on the menu”, Director of Sky1 Adam MacDonald said in a statement announcing the renewal. “Viewers can expect more love, more lies and more lip-smacking dishes to be served up next time around”.
The show’s second season, which will continue to tell the story of Gina (French) and Sam’ (Fox) tale of love, sex, deceit and betrayal, was commissioned by Adam MacDonald and Sky’s Head of Drama Anne Mensah and will be penned by series creator Dan Sefton (The Good Karma Hospital). It is not immediately clear if Iain Glen will return for season two. Endemol Shine owned indie Bandit Television is producing, with Clare Kilner on-board to direct. The executive producers are Phillippa Giles for Bandit Television and Anna Ferguson for Sky.
