Lifetime’s Beaches reboot will receive its UK premiere on Lifetime UK on Sunday March 12th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Beaches follows the serendipitous meeting of two young girls on the Venice Boardwalk, who, though worlds apart in lifestyle, embark on unexpected and lifelong friendship. CC is an aspiring singer trying to make it in Los Angeles until she is discovered by a director who gives her her first big shot. Hillary is the daughter of a prominent civil rights lawyer who struggles to find her own destiny.
Described as a contemporary remake of the 1980s feature film, the reboot features new takes on the classic songs “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “The Glory of Love” and includes several other songs recorded specifically for the movie. Tony Award winner Idina Menzel (Frozen) and NAACP Image Award winner Nia Long (The Best Man Holiday) star as CC and Hillary, respectively. Emmy Award nominee, Allison Anders is the director.
