BBC One has released a first look image from their upcoming psychological thriller series Trust Me, which is set to premiere later this year.
Trust Me follows Cath Hardacre, a hardworking and skilled nurse, who, having lost her job for whistle-blowing, is forced to take drastic measures to provide for her daughter. Out of desperation, Cath seizes the opportunity to steal her best friend’s identity as a senior doctor and start a new life in Edinburgh. Burying herself deeper and deeper in the imposter persona, she realises she could get everything she ever wanted – but with her old life threatening to destroy her fragile creation, how far will she go to protect it?
The four-part drama was commissioned last August and hails from Dan Sefton (The Good Karma Hospital), who penned the script. It is being produced by Red Production Company through BBC Scotland and stars Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch, Adult Life Skills), Emun Elliot (The Paradise, Threesome), Sharon Small (Stonemouth, Mistresses) and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners). Emily Feller is the producer, while Nicola Shindler and Gaynor Holmes serve as the executive producers. John Alexander (Indian Summers) and Amy Neil (The Cut) are directing.
