BBC Two Releases First Image For 'The Last Kingdom' Season 2 – TVWise

BBC Two has released a first look image from the upcoming second season of their period drama The Last Kingdom, which is set to premiere later this Spring.
The Last Kingdom is set in the ninth century when many of the separate kingdoms of England have fallen to the invading Vikings, with only the great kingdom of Wessex left standing and defiant under the command of King Alfred the Great. The drama series is produced by Carnival Films and stars Alexander Dreymon (American Horror Story), David Dawson (Peaky Blinders), Emily Cox (Homeland), Ian Hart (Boardwalk Empire) and Tobias Santelmann (Marcella).
In the show’s second season, Uhtred continues his fight for his native land of Northumbria. Having given his sword to King Alfred, despite his upbringing by the invading pagan Danes, Uthred embarks on his voyage north to reclaim his own fate: to avenge Earl Ragnar’s death and recapture his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg. Joining the cast this season is Thure Lindhardt (The Bridge), Millie Brady (Legend) and Peter McDonald (Thirteen). As TVWise previously reported, Netflix is the co-producer for the new season and will stream the show this March in the United States, Canada, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Japan, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
