BBC One’s three-part psychological thriller The Replacement will premiere on Tuesday February 28th at 9pm, it has been announced.

The Replacement follows Ellen, a successful architect in her mid-thirties, who falls pregnant and finds maternity cover in Paula. Ellen wants to champion her, but something’s not right. Ellen begins to fear for her safety when she suspects her maternity cover has a disturbing agenda. Can her suspicions be explained away as female rivalry and her own insecurity of opting out of work at the top of her game… or do they speak to something deeper?

The three-part drama, penned and directed by Joe Ahearne, is set up at the Sony Pictures Television owned indie Left Bank Pictures and stars Morven Christie (The A Word, Hunted), Vicky McClure (Line Of Duty, This Is England), Richard Rankin (From Darkness, Outlander), Dougray Scott (Strike Back, Hemlock Grove), Neve McIntosh (Doctor Who, Critical), Navin Chowdhry (Babylon, Doctor Foster) and Siobhan Redmond (Between The Lines, Alice: Through The Looking Glass). The executive producers are Andy Harries and Suzanne Mackie for Left Bank Pictures, and Matthew Read for BBC One.
