In what is a nice piece of PR/marketing, Netflix dropped a clip announcing the premiere date (May 30th) for the fifth season of presidential drama House Of Cards in the midst of the inauguration ceremony for Donald Trump.
Created by Beau Willimon, House of Cards follows ruthless politician Francis Underwood, as he ascends from the position of House Majority Whip to President of the United States.
The drama series is produced by Trigger Street Productions & Media Rights Capital and stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. Season five is set to pick up from the season four finale, which saw Underwood in his own general election battle against the backdrop of a terrorist attack.
The clip released today shows the image of the U.S. flag flapping in the wind, with the capitol building (where the inauguration is held) in the background, as the national anthem is recited, before revealing the premiere date: 30.05.2017.
