The second season of ITV’s cold case drama Unforgotten will premiere on Thursday January 5th at 9pm, it has been announced.
From Chris Lang, Unforgotten follows DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan as they work a cold-case and the ensuing fall-out of the investigation. Each season focuses on a new case, with season 1 exploring the death of boy who died in 1976. The drama series is produced by Mainstreet Pictures and stars Nicola Walker (Spooks) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (The Kumars).
In the show’s second season, the perfectly preserved remains of a middle aged man are found in a sealed suitcase in the silt of the River Lea in northeast London. The man is identified as David Walker who disappeared in 1990 and left behind a wife, who has since remarried, and her son who is now in his early 30s. Across six episodes, Cassie and Sunny encounter four unconnected people who they suspect are linked in some way to the victim. Joining the cast this season are Mark Bonnar, Rosie Cavaliero, Lorraine Ashbourne, Badria Timimi, Charlie Condou, Holly Aird, Nigel Lindsay, Bryony Hannah, Peter Egan and Wendy Craig. Jassa Ahluwalia reprises his role from season one.
