UKTV’s W channel has commissioned Celebrity Advice Bureau, a new three-part series which sees various celebrities serve as agony aunts/uncles, TVWise has learned. The series is set to premiere on Sunday December 18th and will be stripped over three nights.
The series will see celebs try and solve problems ranging from the everyday to the downright bizarre. From disguising killer hangovers, to changing dirty nappies at 3am and seeking revenge on cheating boyfriends. The advice that the bureau dishes out could be wise, poignant or just plain bonkers. Either way it is guaranteed to be hilarious.
The celebrities lined up to serve as agony aunts and uncles in Celebrity Advice Bureau include Rick Edwards, Alice Levine, Laura Jackson, David Baddiel, Ellie Taylor, Matt Richardson, Fay Ripley, Louis Walsh, Ricky Tomlinson, Roisin Conaty, plus Richard and Chloe Madeley. The series, which was commissioned by UKTV’s Deputy Director of Commissioning Hilary Rosen, and is being produced by Voltage TV. Chris Little is the series producer, while Jon Alwen will executive produce.
W has been at the forefront of UKTV’s push into originals. The channel, which has grown its audience share since the rebrand from Watch earlier this year, has a number of other new series in the works including Dancing For The Weekend, from Sony’s Electric Ray; The Dressing Room, which hails from STV Productions and GroupM Entertainment; Gogglebox-like series We Have Been Watching, from Crook Productions; and new Dr Christian Jessen series Dr Christian Will See You Now.
