Matthew Angel is leaving Simon Cowell’s company Syco to join Objective Media Group as Chief Operating Officer.
Angel has been at Syco since 2012, when he was appointed Global Head of Legal Affairs, and is coming off of leading the negotiations for the company with ITV for the just-announced three-year renewal for The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
At Objective Media Group, Matthew Angel will head both the legal and business affairs and finance teams, and will also oversee all commercial activity; bolstering the creative restructure by leading the company’s push into new territories. He will take up post at Objective next month.
“It was always going to take a lot for me to leave Syco, where I have had four amazing years, but I simply couldn’t resist this new challenge”, Matthew Angel said in a statement. “It’s an incredibly exciting time for OMG and I am thrilled to be joining the company.”

Formerly known as Objective Productions, Objective Media Group is part of the All3Media group and produces content across Factual Entertainment, Magic, Saturday night Entertainment and Scripted Comedy.
