In a wide ranging deal with CPL Productions, Sky1 has renewed A League Of Their Own for three more seasons, through to season fourteen; and picked up companion series A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip for a second season.
This marks the latest three-season renewal deal between Sky and CPL for A League Of Their Own, after the two reached a similar agreement to renew the series in 2014. That deal guaranteed the series would stay on air through to at-least season 11, which will air on Sky1 this Autumn with James Corden back in the hosting seat alongside regular team captains Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff and permanent panellist Jack Whitehall.
A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip – which was commissioned shortly after Corden started his CBS late night gig – proved to be a hit in its first season, with the three episode series out-performing its parent series with an average audience of 1.39 million viewers. The second season will combine stunning locations and exhilarating challenges with an insider’s look all the hilarious antics the boys get up to en route.
“A League of Their Own is totally on fire at the moment and James, Freddie, Jamie and Jack are on such brilliant form. Ratings and critical response for the studio shows have never been better and the awesome Road Trip specials have broken all records”, said Sky1 Director Adam MacDonald. “I can’t wait to see what James puts the guys through in the second Road Trip outing and I’m so so pleased to have secured another three years of the genre defining studio show for our Sky customers.”
A League of Their Own and A League of Their Own: US Road Trip are produced by CPL Productions, with David Taylor serving as the series producer. The executive producers are Murray Boland and Danielle Lux for CPL Productions and Barbara Lee for Sky. The format of A League of Their Own is distributed by Red Arrow International, including current productions in Denmark and Norway.
