ITV’s eight episode Cold Feet revival will premiere on Monday September 5th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Cold Feet was created by Mike Bullen and told the story of three couples, airing some five seasons on ITV between 1997 and 2003. Original cast members James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John Thomson and Fay Ripley have all signed on to reprise their roles in the revival. Not returning for the new episodes is Helen Baxendale, whose character Rachel was killed off in the show’s fifth season, and Kimberley Joseph, who played Jo Ellison.
The new season is set 13 years after Rachel’s untimely death. When we saw them last, the characters were on the cusp of change, growing up and settling down. They’d hoped that by the time they were approaching 50, life would be simpler. Well, now they’re there, to discover that it isn’t. The issues they face are different but just as challenging. They still have many years to live, but can’t escape the niggling fear that their futures are behind them.
Original series creator Mike Bullen penned the scripts for the revival, which is being produced by Big Talk Productions. Rebecca Ferguson is the series producer, while Better Call Saul helmer Terry McDonough is directing. The executive producers are Mike Bullen and Big Talk Productions’ CEO Kenton Allen.
